The Head of Government, Jorge Macri, announced the construction of line F of the subway in the City of Buenos Aires. This new line will connect the neighborhoods of Barracas with Palermo, facilitating north-south travel and decongesting Line C, as well as enhancing the use of other subway lines. Along its route, Line F will pass through various neighborhoods such as Constitución, San Cristobal, Monserrat, San Nicolás, Recoleta, and Palermo.
According to estimates, Line F is expected to transport more than 300 thousand passengers daily and will connect with several stations of different subway lines, including D, B, A, E, and H, as well as with the Roca Railway. This line will circulate through the center of the city of Buenos Aires and will have a route that will span from the Costanera to the Sáenz Transfer Center.
In addition to Line F, the construction of two new TramBUS lines was announced, which will integrate transversely with the subway network. Two electric TramBUS lines will also be developed, connecting the neighborhoods in the north and south of the City. Jorge Macri emphasized that these projects aim to make traveling in the City easier and faster, benefiting more than 60,000 daily users.
At a press conference, it was announced that the inauguration of Line F is planned for the year 2031 and will require an investment of approximately 1.050 million dollars, including rolling stock. The initial section of 5 kilometers between Barracas and the connection with the Callao station of line D will be tendered in two phases. In the near future, details will be published for interested companies to participate in the national and international tender, which is expected to launch in June of this year with the intention of starting construction in 2026.
In summary, the construction of Line F and the incorporation of the new TramBUS lines represent a significant advancement in the urban transformation of the City of Buenos Aires, proposing innovative solutions aimed at improving the travel experience for residents, focusing on speed, comfort, and safety.
